Advanced Air Purification
Vanguard Gold Mobile
At Kaggen Dental Care, we always put our patients’ safety first. One of the ways that we maintain the safest and most hygienic environment possible is our use of continuous suction to reduce aerosols and prevent your exposure to contaminants.
What is an aerosol?
An aerosol is a tiny solid particle, liquid droplet, or gas that can remain suspended in the air for a period of time. Aerosols can present themselves when performing dental procedures with high-speed hand-pieces, ultrasonic scalers, or other instruments. We manage these aerosols to provide a healthy, clean treatment process for our patients.
How do we manage aerosols?
One of the best ways to reduce aerosol spread is by utilizing a device with continuous suction capabilities. At our practice, we utilize a Vaniman product called Vanguard Gold Mobile. This product allows us to continuously evacuate saliva and debris in order to manage moisture and humidity. It also provides excellent isolation and airway protection to even further mitigate the unwanted spread of these aerosols.
Here at Kaggen Dental Care, we clean the office air by utilizing Medify Air purification units. These units are equipped with medical grade HEPA filters that can capture 99.9% of contaminants and particles in the air down to 0.1 microns in size!
These contaminants include:
- Bacteria and Viruses
- Animal dander
By removing these harmful airborne particles, we are providing a safer, cleaner, and more comfortable office for all our loyal patients and staff members. Oral health is a crucial component to your overall wellbeing, and that includes the air you breathe.
Our state-of-the-art technologies ensure accuracy, efficiency, and comfort. Our dental equipment is safe, effective, and well-maintained. Some of our dental technologies include those listed below:
Digital Impression Scanning
Goop-free impressions! Impression "goop" can be very uncomfortable, especially for those with strong gag reflexes. We use impression scanning for the fabrication of most dental restorations, including crowns and dental implants.
The intra-oral camera is about the size and shape of a pen. It is a high-definition digital camera used to record images of your teeth, gums, mouth, and tongue from inside your mouth. Due to its small size and sleek design, it is comfortable, easy to use, and able to view a wide range of angles. The intra-oral camera is a safe and effective tool that can be used with patients of every age.
The intra-oral camera is a highly valuable resource for both diagnosis and treatment planning. Each time we use the intra-oral camera, a new disposable cover is employed. This ensures your health and safety at all times. After your exam, images captured by the intra-oral camera may be digitally stored, printed out, or deleted.
VELscope Oral Cancer Screening Light
Early oral lesion detection with VELscope; this handheld scope uses a special blue-spectrum light to scan the tissues in the mouth. This light creates distinct visual patterns on health and unhealthy tissues through natural fluorescence. With this screening light, we can more accurately discover potential oral cancers in early, highly treatable stages.
Our office is equipped with modern air abrasion technology. We utilize a small handheld device to blow a stream of air and tiny aluminum oxide particles against your tooth. This can be used to safely blast away tooth decay and remove surface stains. Air abrasion may also be used as part of a cosmetic or restorative treatment to prepare a tooth for bonding or to repair cracked or worn teeth.

The DIAGNOdent is an advanced dental tool that uses a laser to aid in detecting tooth decay. With the DIAGNOdent, we can locate incipient cavities with pinpoint accuracy. This is especially useful in areas that can be difficult to diagnose through visual inspection or x-ray alone. The DIAGNOdent is simple, painless, and effective. With early detection, we can stop decay below the surface with minimally invasive treatment.
The Cavitron is a handheld device used in periodontal deep cleaning. While scaling can be completed by hand, the Cavitron uses ultrasonic technology to remove calculus from teeth and gums quickly, gently and effectively.
With the Cavitron, patients enjoy a more comfortable experience and time spent scaling and polishing is decreased.
